MOUNTAIN VIEW IRIS SOCIETY’S IRIS SHOW

WHEN TO START: Check your garden during the week prior to the show.  
Straighten a likely stalk with a stake and a tie. 

WHEN TO CUT STALKS: 

Stalks may be cut the day prior to the show either to speed up the opening
of the buds or to hold them back. 

If the weather is threatening (rain, hail, wind), you may want to cut all
entries the day before. Cut stalks at ground level as they can be cut to
proper length before entering in the Show. 

HOW TO TRANSPORT:  VERY CAREFULLY!!! 

WHEN TO ENTER: All entries must arrive at Mountain View Meeting Place
106 E. Washington Street, Mountain View, Arkansas Friday evening May 2nd from  

5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  No entries will be accepted after 7:00 p.m. please.

CAUTION: 

Every entry must have at least one open bloom.  Flowers should be fresh without

breaks, tears, insects, or insect damage. 

GROOMING: Stalks and flowers should be clean - damp cloth, q-tips,
small brush are helpful tools for the final touches.  Vases will be available for  
displaying your iris blooms. 

ENTRY TAGS: An entry tag must be filled out properly for each entry.  The volunteer will take the entry tag and place under the iris entry on the Show tables. 

The irises are judged by the public.  Iris show visitors will not see your name on the entry tag.  An older variety may win People's Choice as well as newer introductions. 

Our iris show is presented so that you may see a lovely display of iris!
